The Char Dham Yatra covers four of Hinduism's holiest shrines in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The Do Dham Yatra is the pilgrimage of any two of these four Dhams, typically completed in 5–7 days.
The most popular Do Dham combinations are Kedarnath and Badrinath (the two highest-altitude shrines, both in the inner Himalayas) and Yamunotri and Gangotri (the two river-source dhams, ideal for pilgrims focused on the sacred rivers Yamuna and Ganga).
Reaching all four Dhams requires dedicated transport — shared buses don't run to several base camps, and the high-altitude mountain roads demand experienced drivers who know the terrain through every season. A private cab from a trusted Dehradun operator is the safest and most comfortable way to complete the Do Dham Yatra.
Chauhan Taxi Services has been running Char Dham and Do Dham Yatra routes since 2014. Our drivers are locally experienced, our vehicles are maintained for mountain conditions, and our fares are fixed from the start of your journey to the last drop.
Each of the four Dhams holds deep spiritual significance. Our drivers know every route, every weather pattern, and every temple schedule — so you can focus entirely on your pilgrimage.
Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas near the Banderpunch glacier, Yamunotri is the source of the sacred River Yamuna and the seat of Goddess Yamuna. The temple sits at 3,293 metres and is reached after a 6 km trek from Janki Chatti. The famous Surya Kund hot spring nearby is used to cook rice and potatoes as prasad — a unique ritual that pilgrims cherish.
Gangotri is where the River Ganga descends from the Himalayas to the plains. The temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, stands at the banks of the Bhagirathi river in a stunning high-altitude valley. Unlike Yamunotri, Gangotri is directly accessible by road — our cab brings you right to the temple gate. The nearby Gaumukh glacier is the actual source of the Ganga, accessible by a further 18 km trek for those inclined.
Kedarnath is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and one of India's most powerful Shiva shrines. Situated at 3,583 metres, surrounded by snow peaks, the ancient stone temple is believed to be over 1,000 years old. Pilgrims reach it via a 16–18 km trek from Gaurikund (or by helicopter from Phata/Sersi). Our cab takes you directly to Gaurikund, managing every kilometre of the mountain road through Guptkashi and Sonprayag safely.
Badrinath is one of the holiest Vishnu shrines in India, counted among the 108 Divya Desams. The colourful temple, set against the backdrop of the Neelkanth peak, is accessible by road all the way — making it the most easily reachable of the four Dhams. The Tapt Kund hot spring at the temple complex is considered sacred, and pilgrims take a dip before entering the shrine. Mana village, India's last village before the China border, is just 3 km beyond.
The two highest and most spiritually significant shrines — Lord Shiva's Kedarnath and Lord Vishnu's Badrinath. Typically completed in 5–6 days from Dehradun via Guptkashi and Joshimath. Ideal for pilgrims with limited time who want the most powerful Do Dham experience.
The sacred origins of both the Yamuna and the Ganga — two of India's most revered rivers. Typically 5–6 days from Dehradun via Barkot and Uttarkashi. Ideal for pilgrims focused on the river goddesses and those who prefer a slightly less demanding yatra.

Haridwar is the classic gateway to Dev Bhoomi, Uttarakhand — the point where most pilgrims first step onto sacred ground. Below is our suggested 10-day complete Char Dham itinerary starting and ending at Haridwar. For a Do Dham Yatra, choose either the first 5 days (Yamunotri + Gangotri) or the second 5 days (Kedarnath + Badrinath). This is a suggested route only — we customise every itinerary to suit your travel dates, group size, and halting preferences.
Starting and ending at Haridwar · Covering all four dhams · 10 days suggested
Set out from Haridwar early in the morning and drive straight toward Barkot via Rishikesh, Chamba, and Dharasu. Consider a short breakfast stop in Rishikesh along the way. Reach Barkot by late afternoon — check in and rest for the evening before the Yamunotri trek tomorrow.
Leave early for Janki Chatti and complete the 6 km trek to the Yamunotri temple. Visit the Surya Kund hot spring, offer prayers, and explore the surroundings. Descend and head back to Barkot by late afternoon for the night halt.
Depart Barkot early for a scenic drive to Uttarkashi via Dharasu. On arrival, visit the Vishwanath Temple and the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering if time permits. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi, enjoying its calm riverside setting.
Head out early for Gangotri — the temple is accessible directly by road. Visit the Gangotri temple and the Gaumukh glacier area, take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi, and offer prayers. Return to Uttarkashi by evening to unwind before the Kedarnath leg begins.
Drive from Uttarkashi toward Guptkashi via Tehri and Devprayag, stopping at scenic viewpoints and the Devprayag Sangam (confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi) along the way. Arrive by late afternoon. Night halt in Guptkashi or Sonprayag — the base for tomorrow's Kedarnath trek.
Drive to Gaurikund in the morning and start the 16–18 km trek to Kedarnath early to avoid the midday heat. Reach Kedarnath by late afternoon, visit the ancient Jyotirlinga temple, and spend time at one of the most powerful Shiva shrines in India. Overnight stay in Kedarnath.
Begin the descent from Kedarnath early in the morning, covering the 16–18 km trek back down to Gaurikund. Our cab will be waiting at Sonprayag to take you back. Night halt in Sonprayag or Rudraprayag.
Drive alongside the Alaknanda River toward Badrinath via Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Joshimath. Arrive in Badrinath by evening — visit the Badrinath Vishnu temple, take a dip in the Tapt Kund hot springs, and attend the evening aarti. Overnight stay in Badrinath.
Spend the morning at the Badrinath Temple and visit nearby Mana village — India's last inhabited village before the China border. In the afternoon, drive back toward Rudraprayag for an overnight halt, beginning the return journey home.
Leave Rudraprayag early in the morning for the drive back to Haridwar. Stop briefly at Rishikesh or Devprayag along the way if time allows. Arrive in Haridwar by late evening — the Char Dham pilgrimage is complete. Our cab can continue to Dehradun, Delhi, or any other destination you need.
This is a suggested route only. We customise every Do Dham itinerary to your dates, pace, and pickup location.
This suggested itinerary covers the full Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar. For a Do Dham Yatra, pick either Days 1–5 (Yamunotri + Gangotri) or Days 6–10 (Kedarnath + Badrinath). Both combinations can be completed in 5–6 days. Contact us to customise your own itinerary from Haridwar, Dehradun, Rishikesh, or Delhi — we adjust halting points, day length, and vehicle type to suit your group.
Our drivers have navigated Char Dham roads for over a decade — including monsoon conditions, narrow passes, and high-altitude stretches near Gaurikund and Badrinath.
Temple opening times dictate the schedule. We depart at 4–5 AM when needed to ensure pilgrims reach temples before crowds and catch the morning aarti.
On a multi-day yatra, you need certainty. You'll have the owner's direct number — available every day of the journey in case anything needs adjusting.
No surprises after 10 days on the road. The fare you agree before your yatra begins is the fare you pay when you return — not a rupee more.
Your vehicle is tracked for the entire yatra — giving your family back home peace of mind during the high-altitude mountain journey.
Vehicles deployed on Char Dham routes are serviced for mountain conditions — brakes, tyres, engine, and cooling systems checked before every yatra departure.
We adjust for older pilgrims, unwell passengers, weather delays, and temple closures. Your yatra runs at your pace — not a fixed-departure group tour.
Our Char Dham and Do Dham pilgrims consistently rate us 5 stars — because we treat the yatra with the respect it deserves, not as just another booking.
Everything pilgrims ask before booking their Do Dham Yatra cab from Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Delhi.
Call us with your dates and we'll build a custom itinerary and quote within minutes.
Tell us your two Dhams, your pickup location, and your travel dates. We will handle every kilometre of the mountain road — so you can focus entirely on your pilgrimage.
