Leaving Dehradun, your cab climbs down through the Asharodi stretch before joining the new expressway near Ganeshpur. From there, it's a straight run through Saharanpur, Shamli, and Baghpat before merging into Delhi near Akshardham. The older NH-58 route through Muzaffarnagar and Roorkee is still used for pickups and drops closer to those towns, but the expressway is now the faster default for a direct Dehradun-Delhi run.
Early morning departures (before 6 AM) avoid Delhi's peak traffic on the final stretch into the city. During the monsoon (July–August), allow a little extra buffer time for the hill descent near Dehradun. Winter mornings (December–January) can have fog on the plains section, so night travel is best planned with an experienced driver.
